Sunday, Oct. 15th (post show)
To the left is our stage setup for our show in the S.U.B of The College of Santa Fe. The above right is a shot of me talking with my old friends, poet and professor Ryan Leoni and photographer Marq Sutherland. This was a rather overwhelming evening for me. Overwhelming in a good way. The landscape, and the memories. Those of you who have spent time in the southwest will know what I am talking about when I say that the environment here has a way of making me emotional, and making me still.
We had a great time playing our first show... luckily I shook off the jitters and the car-cramp blues by forgetting chords in the the first couple of songs. Now we could relax. And I appreciated all of the growlers in the audience for the muddy nymph song. Laughter also relaxes.
Tonight was also special because I got a chance to give honor to one of my most beloved mentors, Joe Weber. When we played "Gratitude", I hope you heard us, Joe. And thanks for helping me become the artist and person that I am.
Additional thanks belong to those who helped us: thank you Yorgun and the sound crew for working so hard, thanks to Julie Gomez for putting the word out to the alumni and thanks to the people who put up the flyers... thanks to Carol for her hospitality, leadership and humor, and thanks to Liza for letting us crash at ther pad! It is only the comfiest, cloudiest bed ever... we may not leave. Thanks also to the students who gave us their precious mid-term time to support live music. It was wonderful to meet you Sam, Martin, Jamie, Zach, and Michael... (thanks for the pen we stole from you too!) ...and to all who came: thanks for listening and helping us reach Austin!
Enough words already! I know, I know...... goodnight.
